RND# is an ongoing series of short videos by British filmmaker Richard Fenwick that deal with the theme of technology versus humanity. Each video (in a proposed set of 100) is a direct response to the ways in which local culture and society deal with technology. From the artist’s statement: “rnd – one of the programmer’s most enduring commands: the ability to add randomness to data. the rnd# project [random number] deals with this collision head on; between life and technology; between inert machinery and the chaotic nature of reality. and in the process, questions society’s hugely weird and wired reliance on technology itself”.
