Weather Report

Not all art has to be strictly about art; it can also be more directly related to very specific topics. Just consider a new and fascinating project at the Boulder Museum in Colorado: Weather Report: Art & Climate Change.
The project wants to instigate a dialogue between artists, environmentalists and scientists in creating a visual language to communicate climate change. Organizing exhibitions in the museum, at partnering venues, and site-specific works in public space, the exhibition makers want to activate personal and public change.
Lucy Lippard, an internationally renowmed curator, art historian and activist, has collaborated with EcoArts, an organization that wants to use the arts to inspire new actions on environmental issues. This way, they hope to open up new possibilities for envisioning a sustainable future.
Still on view throughout Boulder, CO until December 21.
